Steve Watkinson's update
I called in to Country Services, which specialises in the sales, hire, servicing and repair of gardening and horticultural machinery.
The company is a family run business, set up by husband and wife team Robert and Celia Gadsby in 1994. The business specialises in the service and repair of all types of horticultural and mechanical equipment whether it be for the domestic gardener or large-scale commercial clients, building up a solid reputation on providing quality of service and technical advice. The business was set up in a small unit in the centre of Barton under Needwood and has gone from strength to strength ever since.
Supported by son, Richard and daughter, Jennifer, the business has now moved to a purpose-built facility just outside Barton where they can offer a greater variety of services and handle larger items of equipment.
There is a substantial showroom, offering the latest ranges of horticultural equipment ranging from the everyday mower to large scale tractors, rotavators, sweepers, pressure washers. The state-of-the-art robotic mowers are proving very popular.
The service and repair side of the business has grown tremendously. The new workshop has three hydraulic inspection ramps and it can now accommodate much larger equipment.
It is also worth noting that Country Services not only looks after horticultural customers but also looks after companies providing white lining services, members of the building trade (repairs on cement mixers, pressure washers, compressors) golf buggies, land trains and quad bikes.
Country Services will be visiting EHS 2020 catch up with existing suppliers and to look out for new ideas and products to complement their business.
