Derived from the benchmark Executive Hire Show, our series of regional Road Shows enable hirers to get together with like-minded industry professionals to discuss current issues, share ideas and, generally, get a buzz from being part of our great industry.

These popular events allow people to network in an informal and positive atmosphere, and enable hirers to take advantage of Special Deals that are only available to Road Show visitors on the day. These events are free to attend.

  • Hirer's Capital Event

    • Representing Hire Station’s various locations in greater London were, from left, Mick Pritchard, Core Tools Business MD Brian Sherlock, Simon
      Clothier and Carla Hicks. “Personnel from our other regions have previously attended successful Executive Hire Road Shows in various locations throughout the country,” Brian told EHN. “So we wanted people from our London operations to benefit from the same networking opportunities.”

    • “These events are a great idea because they give you a real opportunity to see a selection of suppliers and have meaningful conversations with them,” said Tony Criddle, right, of Beaver Tool Hire (Chichester) Ltd, and Neil Johnson. “We find we are constantly busy throughout the day at our depots and it can be difficult to see sales reps if they call, so the regional Road Shows are ideal. We are also really looking forward to attending the main Executive Hire Show in February.”

    • Lance Foster from Southern Hoist Services in Southampton told EHN, “I was very interested in the Snorkel stand and we discussed the company’s range of compact push-along mini scissor lifts. These could be very useful for us to use ourselves on sites where we are installing equipment. The Road Show was also a great opportunity to network and to meet up with some old industry colleagues from the past.”

  • Knowledge is priceless

    • "Knowledge is priceless, and that's what you gain when you visit events like this, seeing new products as well as getting some great deals on the day," said Stuart Parker of Parker Tool Hire who was amongst the hirers attending our recent East Midlands Road Show. "I bought 15 Master heaters from HSC, a new fuel pump from Midland Power, and four Warrior barrows from Belle, having just read about them the previous day in the October issue of EHN. The venue was good, the welcome was warm, the food was great and the Road Show was very well organised."

    • "EHN and EHS do it again! What a great job the team did in bringing a wide and varied selection of suppliers together to showcase their latest products and give hirers the chance to take advantage of some great deals," said Dennis Gwynne, HVAC Technical Director of Andrews Sykes. "It's obvious that a lot of time, effort and cost go into organising such a professional event. It was also a great opportunity to catch up with industry colleagues locally, in my own back yard."

    • "It was great to touch base with existing suppliers and see some new ones," said Brandon's Mark Ball, pictured centre, with colleagues Shaun Wilson (left) and Dave Robinson. "Gary McWilliam and his team from Headline Sponsor, Hire Supply Co (HSC), gave a fascinating presentation on the company and its expanding product range, and I was very interested in their latest lighting equipment and an innovative battery-powered heater. If you go to an event like this, you are bound to see something new."

    • Within minutes of the Road Show opening, Dave Webster and Helen Power of CV Hire had bought virtually the entire selection of Belle equipment on display, including five compaction plates, a paddle mixer and a Warrior barrow. "We also bought some heaters and dust suppression water bottles from HSC, as well as a floor grinder and a dust vacuum from Trelawny. It's a great opportunity to make closer contacts with suppliers face-to-face, and those who get involved in industry events like this get the benefits."

    • Brian Sherlock, MD of Hire Station's Core Tools business, described the Road Show as: "A really informative evening, and it was great to catch up with a number of other hirers. The opportunity to see some innovative equipment and talk to potential new suppliers in detail was most useful. I saw some products I'd not seen before, and it's set the scene for the Executive Hire Show in February, at which I look forward to networking and appraising even more new launches."

    • "We bought some heaters and water bottles from HSC, and ordered a quantity of their newly introduced heavy duty pull cord," said Dave Atkin of Frank Key Hire. "We have a long-established trading relationship with Belle, and I enjoyed catching up with them, and it was good to touch base with Trelawny, as we bought two of their carpet tile lifters at the Executive Hire Show. I am really looking forward to the event at the Ricoh next February."

    • "We took advantage of special deals on some of the products we saw, including a gas heater and lights from HSC, and we made appointments with Trelawny and Duro for them to visit us and demonstrate some new items," said Peter Davis of Atom Tool Hire, pictured (left) with Chris Ryder. "The atmosphere was friendly and welcoming and we're really glad we made the effort to attend."
