The National Visitor Campaign Moves to Ireland

My week started in Drogheda, where I visited previous Passionate Hirer award winner, DHS Complete Hire and their depot looks as impressive as ever!

I then headed north, visiting hirers in Newry, Banbridge, Carryduff, and my last call of the day was to Balloo Hire’s massive Belfast depot, where I caught up with Workshop Manager, Jim Currie and told him all about Executive Hire Show 2026.

Tuesday started bright and early with a visit to yet another previous Passionate Hirer award winner, CP Hire, where I spent an hour with their Purchasing Manager, Stephen McMullan, walking him around the floorplan for the Show. The observant amongst you will notice a picture of the much-loved and sadly missed hire industry legend, Norman Hutchinson, in pride of place on the picture I took of Stephen.

From Coleraine, I headed to McCarroll Plant Hire in Ballymena, where it was great to see Michael McCarroll (pictured) and his dad, Rory. The McCarroll’s have been massive supporters of the show over the years, and Michael has already booked his flights for February 11th!

The rest of my day went by in a blur, visiting Parkes Hire in Londonderry, KDM Hire’s impressive Cookstown head office, incidentally, yet another Passionate Hirer award winner!

From Cookstown, I headed to Glendun Plant Sales in Dungannon to invite Directors Derek Weir and Dermot Cunnie to the Show to catch up with several of the key brands they represent that will be exhibiting.

My last call of the day was to yet another previous Passionate Hirer award winner, Marley Hire, where Tony Marley proudly gave me a guided tour and showed me all the changes and improvements they have made since my visit last year!
