Dromad Hire
A key visit that we must do each year is to the previous two-time Passionate Hirer award winner Dromad Hire in Dundalk. This year, I took Colin in with me to show him just how impressive the company is and introduced him to Operations Director, Ronan Cotter.
Ronan gave us a guided tour and showed us the developments that they have made since my visit last October:
- They now have a new division called DTA Training based in a brand-new state-of-the-art facility.
- They offer a range of training courses, including IPAF, MEWP operator training and abrasive wheel training.
- We also had a look at their extensive hire fleet, which is all pristine and displayed prominently.
- It is clear to see the pride and attention to detail that the Team at Dromad Hire puts into their work.
Ronan will be visiting the 2026 Show with Managing Director, Seamus Byrne, and they are both looking forward to their annual trip to the main event in the hire industry.
They won the first award in 2011, and if you look closely, you will see a much younger version of me in the bottom left of the award picture. The second award was from the Show’s 10th anniversary year (2016), when they won the ‘best of the best’ award jointly with PET Hire in Crewe.
The two awards are displayed prominently in Dromad Hire’s boardroom and show the pride that they and all the other award winners from over the years take in their achievement. This really underpins the status and credibility of the awards and makes them even more of a key component of the Show!
