Manitou show three new products at the Executive Hire Show

Manitou Group, a global leader in rough terrain material handling, will show the MC18 rough terrain forklift at Executive Hire Show (6th & 7th February 2019 at the Ricoh Arena, Coventry). The company is also planning to launch the MT 420H telehandler and the 100VJR AWP. Manitou say that these
compact models allow the group to 'highlight its capacity to innovate with very compact products'. The three models are designed to reduce TCO to bring more efficiency and performance to the users.

An ever-lower Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) of machines
Manitou report that the MC18 has been conceived and designed to reduce the total cost of ownership. Its efficient 26.5 kW engine optimizes fuel consumption. Consuming 3.5 l/h and according the company, the MC18 is the most energy-efficient compact rough-terrain forklift on the market.

Great versatility
With an overall width of 1450 mm and a height of less than 2 m on its “Buggy” version, the MC18 forklift offers the user optimum visibility during handling operations thanks to a new panoramic glazed roof without a metal structure. This is composed of two tempered glass sheets separated by a plastic film (creating laminated glass). This combination ensures that the operator is protected from falling objects, meeting the requirement of ISO 6055 (FOPS) safety standards. This innovation allows the load to be monitored throughout the whole lifting operation.

The MC18 has a ground clearance of 300mm, the highest on the compact forklift market. This development gives it greater versatility on all types of terrain, and makes obstacle clearance significantly easier and safer. The floor height, accessible without steps, is retained thanks to ptimization of the machine's transmission components and allows the operator to enter and exit the cab effortlessly.

The MC18-4 offers the option of switching from 2-wheel to 4-wheel drive, whether the machine is in operation or not. The 4-wheel drive mode gives the MC18 improved driveability and traction, so it is easier to make difficult crossings. By switching to 2-wheel drive, the operator can reach a speed of 25 km/h and increase productivity gains. This means that fuel consumption is reduced by 12.5% in the handling cycle optimizing the TCO of this machine.

MT420 H
Manitou will also display the Buggy MT420 H. Dedicated to customers looking for an ultracompact telehandler, this is the most compact telehandler in the Manitou construction range. It's also easy to manoeuvre due to its small width. With this forklift, Manitou Group offers a complete range to the construction rental sector. Due to its versatility, the Buggy MT420 H is ideal for many applications such as urban works, renovation, parks & gardens, events sector, handling in narrow spaces and industrial maintenance.

The compact 100VJR powered access platform is a vertical lift model which is highly manoeuvrable and easily capable of working in the most confined spaces and fits through a standard door with an overall width of 1m. Actual performance is not effected as the 100VJR has a working height of 10m and has a great reach due to the design of the pendular arm and rotating turret. The controls are user friendly and fully proportional for precise movements. A spacious basket provides total safety and comfort for the operator.

Manitou will also exhibit two high-tech interactive ‘pods’. A ‘Reduce’ pod exhibit will give visitors the opportunity to assess their own owning and operating costs and potential savings through a computerised 4 step process, connect, configure, analyse and optimise.

A second pod will show visitors the benefits of Manitou’s ‘connected solution’ Easy Manager. This telematic system connects users to their machines through any internet enabled device, a smart phone or tablet computer for example. Once connected easy manager enables users to secure their equipment, optimise operations saving time and money, anticipate downtime, control maintenance costs and see all data - use and maintenance. Easy Manager helps users maximize the residual value of their Manitou telehandlers.
