His punditry gained recognition early with the Daily Telegraph naming him the fifth best sports pundit in 2016, highlighting his humour and insight.
Beyond broadcasting Flats regularly hosts corporate and charity events across the UK, and contributes sincere, considered commentary on rugby’s future. His ability to blend authority with authenticity, while never losing his natural warmth, has made him not only a great voice of sport but a genuine connection point between rugby and its fans.
