Steve McKenzie's October Updates

During October, my visits took me to: South Wales, North Wales, Scotland, Ireland, Northern Ireland, Cumbria and Hull. And I wonder why I am knackered all of the time?!

As ever, it is gratifying to see many of the Hirers that I visited are already looking forward to, the industry's annual event on the 14th and 15th February 2024! One of my many highlights of my visits during October was my annual tour of Ireland and Northern Ireland. This started in Dublin and took in 30 visits from Coleraine to Cork.

There has been a number of winners of the Executive Hire Show, passionate Hirer Awards from across Ireland over the years and, all of the previous winners are rightly proud of their achievements. None more so than Dromad Hire in Dundalk. I called in and spent an enjoyable hour with General Manager, Ronan Cotter. It was good to catch up with Dromad's M.D. Seamus Byrne. Proudly on display in their meeting room are two passionate Hirer awards that they have won over the years (Ronan is pictured with them). The first one was in 2011 and then they were joint winners of, The Prestigious 10/10 award at the 10th Executive Hire Show. For anyone who thinks the Passionate Hire Awards do not matter, it is worth noting that the process is rigorously judged by, trusted hire industry professionals, several of whom are previous winners. 

Ronan proudly gave me a tour of the depot and even since my visit last year, there have been several noticeable improvements to the canteen, workshops, rest rooms and storage areas which were all, immaculate. Ronan and Seamus will be at the 2024 Show catching up with their, existing Suppliers and looking for innovative products, they would not miss the event! 

I look forward to seeing them there!
