CLM Construction Supplies look ahead to the EHS

Alutower access equipment in operation - see it at the EHS

CLM Construction Supplies will be at the Executive Hire Show this week showing its range of lifting, cutting and mixing equipment.

Managing director Bob Hughes said: “We can supply a wide range of equipment for construction and refurbishment sites for lifting, cutting and mixing along with their accessories. All equipment is manufactured according to the latest European directives and is supplied with the relevant (CE) certificate of conformity.

“We now stock a competitive small builder’s concrete mixer in 110v or 240v for small to medium builders or the DIY market.

“Since moving into our new premises in 2014 we have expanded our range of equipment to include access equipment and also LED portable construction site lights in both mains and battery formats.”

Over the last six-years CLM has   expanded the distribution of Imer, Maber, Lockhard and Bocker construction equipment in the UK. The company specialises in cutting, lifting and mixing and access equipment to the hire market as well as end-users ensuring it supplies the correct equipment to give the best solution   for specific customers’ needs.

Mr Hughes said: “Our staff has over 50 years’   experience of supplying the construction industry in plant and equipment from the above companies. Key personnel are also trained to manufacturer’s standards on repair, maintenance and operation of the equipment we supply.

“The move has now enabled us to have a greater availability of our product lines. We now distribute across the UK and Ireland next day or two to three days from order for goods which we carry in stock.”

The company is a member of the main industry bodies: CPA, CHIG, HAE, ensuring that it is up-to-date on current regulations/legislation along with any potential future changes within the industry.

CLM now also offers training on use and the repair/service and erection of all the equipment it supplies, either at the company’s premises – on the Barton Industrial Estate, Etruria Way in Bilston – at its customer’s premises or on-site.

Investing in the future with a range of new product lines:  CLM is the UK distributor for Bocker Db, who manufacture a range of lifting equipment from a ladder hoist to small and  medium rack and  pinion goods/passenger hoists.

The company has also launched a new Lockhard access product called Alutower which is a  revolutionary aluminium tower that  allows  safe  access for refurbishment and maintenance either  internally or externally by means of its unique battery powered platform ideally suited for sports halls and  shopping centers, along  with the UP5 personnel access platform  with a working height  of 5.3m.

Makita launch new 4-Stroke Back-Pack Blower

See Makita at the Executive Hire Show with new Innovations

The new Makita EB7660TH back-pack blower has increased air flow and air speed, with the maximum power output speed from the innovative Makita MM4 75.6cc 4-stroke engine increased to 7,200rpm. Maximum air flow volume is raised to 20m³/min and the maximum air speed velocity increased to 92m/s. Vibration has been reduced to 3.5m/s² with the engine mounted on four damper springs effectively isolating the engine and fan to reduce vibration on the operator’s back, even during long hours of use. The back-pack carry frame has a comfortable harness with adjustable straps. The long telescopic pipe and nozzle gives accurate control of the airflow, and the extended distance from the nozzle to the throttle grip avoids the static electric shock risk created by the air exiting the nozzle.

This latest Makita back-pack blower, which replaces the EB7650TH model, is powered by the MM4 4-stroke engine which delivers 3.0Kw of power; has a diaphragm carburettor for total reliability; and a decompression valve and primer pump for easy starting.  It is highly sustainable with environmentally friendly low noise output, has exceptionally low fuel consumption and low exhaust emissions in compliance with EPA Phase 2 and EU stage 2 regulations. An anti-icing valve directs air warmed by the exhaust to prevent the carburettor icing up in cold environments.

Weighing just 10.9kg without fuel, the new Makita EB7660TH back-pack blower is a hardworking and technically superior machine for the professional landscape maintenance contractor.

Other innovations at the Executive Hire Show will include additions to the 18V Li-Ion range incorporating brushless motor technology, extending the running time and life of the tool. Makita will also be showcasing solutions to dust management with its new range of M-Class units and associated accessories.

The innovative Armorgard Rubble Truck at the Executive Hire Show

Point of Rental Software exhibit at the Executive Hire Show for the first time.

Point of Rental Software, a newcomer to the European market with their acquisition and integration of Syrinx, offers 500+ years of combined staff experience in the hire industry within its offices to support its customers all around the world.

The organization say it is built on five key principles: honesty, integrity, dedication, responsibility, and transparency. The company acquired UK based Syrinx, which has a similar track record of innovation and support; it is integrating European needs like operator hire apps into their products coming from America, where operator hire isn’t often used. The team uses agile programming to update their software often, ensuring customers are served with features they can’t get elsewhere.

In 2016, Rental Essentials added a Kiosk feature, dozens of integrations, and expanded their app to really become an integral part of a hire shop. Rental Expert added the first known Customer Rewards app, allowing companies to automatically calculate future percentage rewards for their customers.

They’ve also added blind- and double-blind scanning to the contract fulfillment app: Even if 30 customers come in and drop off equipment at the same time, with RFID technology and a scanner, the software can automatically assign equipment to the proper contract and return it.

Rental Elite, as mentioned above, was created as the newest ERP software of the hire industry, allowing large and innovative corporations customisable options to fit their specific infrastructure.

Syrinx, too, was updated, adding a Driver and Workbench app to help ensure everyone in the maintenance process had quick access to update equipment status. Driver even allows operators to clock in and out from a job site. All in all, Point of Rental Software’s 2016 additions keep its customers ahead of their competition with innovation and vigilant support.

Maypole launch new catalogue at EHS

Maypole Ltd have launched a brand new catalogue, ‘Trailer Servicing, Parts & Accessories’, which the company will be introducing at next weeks EHS.  According to Maypole, this new catalogue features essential trailer servicing parts, components and accessories, making it a one-stop shop for all trailer builders and service centres.

Since the company’s last catalogue was launched Maypole say they have expanded key product ranges such as couplings, wheels and tyres, fixtures and fittings etc. and have introduced an extensive range of trailer servicing lines and it’s by far its most comprehensive offering to date.  The company is always working on new additions so it’s also worth checking out its website www.maypole.ltd.uk.

This catalogue includes more technical specifications such as the latest dimensions and drawings for all products.  Maypole’s Natalie Speakman said, “We have listed our products in the order that are positioned on the trailer, making it a useful tool when ordering parts for a trailer build or service.  We have also included our own range of Maypole trailers and accessories as well as our Stronghold and Maypole trailer security products.”

Reflex Trolleys make EHS Debut with New Expanding Tool Cages

Reflex Trolleys will be at the Executive Hire Show for the first time this year showing the company’s expanding tooling cages on stand number H130.

Reflex is celebrating its 35th year in business and will be exhibiting its new expanding cages for gas cylinders, space heaters, generators, air compressors and tools, which are protected by international patent PCT/GB2016/05262.

The company says that the products take less than ten seconds to assemble with no tools being needed, and that they are targeted at the hire and construction industries. Reflex will also introduce its range of gas cylinder trolleys, which are manufactured from square tube for strength and are available direct from the manufacturer.

Reflex expanding tool cages have been developed under the expertise of the company’s managing director Jason Pearson to secure and protect gas cylinders, diesel/petrol generators, air compressors, propane/kerosene heaters.

The propane/kerosene heater cages have been designed to protect from scorching and from the potential risk of paper products landing on the heaters causing a fire risk.  Insurance surveyors are now asking that heaters are now covered.

The air compressor, generator, and gas cylinder expanding cages were developed based around the original heating cages.  The new cages have international Patent Pending and Reflex Trolleys report that these new products are space saving and cost effective to ship for the Hire Industry.
