MOBA shows control systems for construction machines at the Executive Hire Show

January 29, 2012

Filed under: Latest News — Louise @ 10:19 am

MOBA Mobile Automation Ltd. is showing its control systems for earthmoving and road construction machines at the Executive Hire Show next week. The product range that MOBA is demonstrating on stand B20 stretches from excavator systems to 2D/3D leveling systems and the roller system MCA-1000.

Excavator systems for accurate results:

With Vision LINK and Vision 3D, MOBA offers excavator systems for many different requirements. Besides versatile 2D features, Vision LINK supplies basic 3D features and can be upgraded to Vision 3D any time. Vision 3D automatically determines the position of

the bucket via GPS. Project data is transmitted directly from the office to the machine through the Internet; from this data a 3D terrain model is designed and shown on the touch screen panel.  This way the excavator operator can control the bucket using the digital terrain model. The systems work extremely accurately, increase cost-effectiveness and machine use efficiency. The tele-support offers quick help without service personnel needing to come to the site.

Levelling systems for versatile applications:

MOBA is also well positioned in the field of levelling systems:
GS-506 and MOBA 3D can be mounted on dozers, graders and all other types of levelling blades. The modular concept enables the quick and simple upgrading from GS-506 to MOBA 3D. With the 3D-system, even complex construction plans can be implemented quickly and effectively. As early as the surveying stage, the terrain type is captured in 3D, detailed surveying and check measurements during the construction phase are largely unnecessary. This accelerates work processes, increases efficiency and eliminates sources of error. With the help of preset project data, MOBA 3D generates a 3D design file. All project data is displayed for the driver on the 10.2 inch touch screen and stored for subsequent processing. MOBA 3D works with GNSS antennas as well as with total stations.

Optimised material compaction:

With the roller system MCA-1000, optimised material compaction can be achieved in the construction of roads and tarmac surfaced areas. The system records the number of roller passes during the entire project and reconciles target and actual passes. This permits production of a homogeneously compacted material, preventing future road damage. All data is shown at the easy-to-use colour display of the panel Operand D. The MCA-1000 permits a highly efficient use of the roller and reduces both operating cost and wear on the machine, and keeps the operator on the right track.

Executive Hire Show Exhibitor JSP is visited by the Prime Minister, David Cameron, who praises the company for its contribution to UK manufacturing.

January 26, 2012

Filed under: Latest News — Louise @ 9:05 am

JSP will be at the Executive Hire show for the 4th time to promote its ranges of Safety Barriers and Traffic Management Solutions; the new Evolution range of Safety Helmet, including the Evolite, which JSP says, is the lightest helmet available in the UK; and many other innovations for Safety.

David Cameron praises JSP for its contribution to UK manufacturing.

In the latter part of 2011 Prime Minister David Cameron officially opened personal protection equipment specialist JSP’s new ‘state-of-the-art’ industrial safety helmet manufacturing facility in Minster Lovell, Oxfordshire.

JSP has invested more than £3m to create, what JSP claim is the world’s most advanced industrial safety helmet manufacturing line, which has a capacity of more than 4m helmets a year. JSP’s new Evolution range of industrial safety helmets will be sold in over 90 countries around the globe. The new range provides the platform for growth over the next 5-10 years, as well as future expansion of the workforce, including the planned introduction of new apprenticeship and graduate trainee schemes in 2012.

The new line also sees the reintroduction of the BSI Kitemark scheme, and in conjunction with the British Standards Institution, the launch of a new risk-based approach to PPE selection across the relevant European (EN) standards.

Said the prime minister: “With our economy today, we desperately need to rebalance it in favour of high-tech manufacturing and exports like this. It is heartening to see that the expansion has been made here in Oxfordshire and not somewhere else in the world.

“With our motor industry expanding here in the UK also, ‘Made in Britain’ is a label we can be proud of.”

Newest range of uber tough helmets on the JSP stand.

JSP chief executive Mark Johnstone explained that the new facility will enable the 47-year-old family company to improve service to customers by giving them exactly what they want. He said: “We will be able to reduce lead times, and be more flexible during periods of both high and low demand. We are in the process of patenting our new technology, and we can now manufacture helmets cheaper here in Oxfordshire than anywhere else in the world.”

You’ll find JSP on the new top tier of the show on stand TT28 – we doubt David Cameron will be there – but there will be plenty of new products to see – including the new helmet range.

Don’t get stumped – the new ‘Stump Beaver’ from Geko Engineering

January 17, 2012

Filed under: Latest News — Louise @ 7:35 am

Don’t get stumped – the new ‘Stump Beaver’ from Geko Engineering – the perfect solution for landscapers, builders – and a very useful addition to your hire fleet!

Geko Engineering is making its debut at the Executive Hire show and is exhibiting its new ‘Stump Grinder’

Geko Engineering is making its debut at the Executive Hire show and has told the EHS team that the company is both excited and proud to be exhibiting its new ‘Stump Grinder’ at the show – which has been designed and manufactured in the UK – marking the first in a range of equipment specifically designed and manufactured for smaller powered plant.

Since 2003 Geko Engineering Ltd, has consulted with various companies to design and develop bespoke tools and equipment – Rio Tinto and UK Coal are amongst the company’s prestigious client list.

Early last year, following extensive testing, and with special focus on the hire industry, Geko Engineering introduced its new “Stump Beaver” tree stump grinder attachment which is suitable for use with most micro and mini excavators.

This ingenious bit of new kit really fills a gap in the small plant and tool hire market

This ingenious bit of new kit really fills a gap in the small plant and tool hire market. Aimed at landscapers and builders the stump beaver is a serious competitor to walk behind stump grinders, which Geko says, offers the user benefits of swift, safe, effortless and vibration free operation.

The nifty grinder makes light work of the heftiest of stumps with the residue being totally recycled into the soil – so no waste, no skip – therefore no extra costs are incurred – just a stump free zone!

Graham Dewhurst, Geko’s managing director and the brains behind the stump beaver said, “Hire companies including MTS Nationwide appreciate the heavy duty construction of the machine and yet the compact package size, makes the “Stump Beaver” easy to store and transport.

Low maintenance and depreciation are good news for hire companies whilst incremental excavator hires improve returns.”

Dewhurst concluded “The plant sales dealerships who have added the Stump beaver to their product ranges have reported that sales to-date have been brisk with excellent customer feedback from end users.”

For further details and to arrange product demonstrations visit Geko Engineering at the Executive Hire Show on the ‘top tier’ of the event on stand number TT40. You can also view the ‘Stump Beaver’ in full action on You Tube just follow the link. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tJKFUZEMblk&feature=youtu.be
