Access Industries will be exhibiting the Multitel SMX225 tracked access platform, which was launched at Bauma last year. This model is one of a range of low profile, tracked units from the Multitel SMX range which covers working heights from 17metre to 22.5metre with a brand new 25metre machine arriving in 2012.

The unique geometry of the Multitel SMX 225 makes it ideal for operating in a wide range of different locations inside and outside a building as well as on tasks such as tree surgery.
According to Access Industries, the Multitel SMX 225 takes spider/crawler platforms to a new level! The unit is between 400 Kg and 600 Kg lighter than other 22 and 23 metre spider platforms currently on the market. With a 22.5 metre working height and a 10.25m working outreach – the model weighs only 2,500kg which allows it to be towed by a conventional 4×4 using a standard trailer.
The Multitel SMX 225 has narrow and wide jacking positions up to 10 metres of working outreach, a short transit length making it easy to manoeuvre in tight areas. Based on the successful Multitel MX225 truck mounted platform the boom structure on this new platform is well proven.
The machine is powered by a Kubota three cylinder water cooled diesel engine for outdoor work – and an electric motor for indoor use which comes as standard. Other power options are available as optional items. The ground controls are operated from a box on an umbilical cord for safety and full operator control of all movements of the unit.
Access Industries has a demonstration machine available. You can see the SMX 225 and other products on stand number E50. The Executive Hire Show takes place at the Ricoh Arena, Coventry on 8th and 9th February 2012.
