Hilti has been a supporter of the Executive Hire Show since the first event in 2007 and each year the company use the event to showcase new innovative products which greatly benefit the hire market, and while Hilti has always been a major presence in the tool hire market, the company feels it can offer more for the industry.
Louise Murphy speaks exclusively to Jan Bo who has recently been appointed to the new position of Trade Market Manager for Northern Europe, and his sole remit is the tool hire market. Having worked with the company across several countries he has already acquired a solid grounding in the sector.
“Hilti has developed many products and services that would be of huge interest and benefit to the hire market, right through to the end-user, but some companies either don’t know or don’t understand the offerings and this is down to communication,” opens Jan Bo Petersen.
“From cordless drills to laser alignment to diamond drilling, we can ensure hire companies have the flexibility to deal with peak demands and specialised tools but our message needs to be a lot clearer, we can address availability, add benefit and value and control the total cost of ownership.”
“One thing is clear in every country, the better the relationship the more opportunities this creates. We don’t just want to deal with companies, we want to become partners.
“For instance while Hilti is already synonymous with breakers and combis, smaller tools, including cordless, are growing in market share thanks to their vastly improved performance and previously untapped areas, including measuring systems and laser alignment, need to be developed jointly.
“The company has always prided itself on the quality of its tools as standalone items, but we also need to promote total solutions, which are designed to maximise productivity and reduce waste when undertaking a task that has several elements during the installation process.
“And last, but by no means least, we must help the end-user meet their health and safety requirements. This can be achieved without any reduction in productivity, and this message we must take to market hand-in-hand,” concludes Jan Bo.
